So GMAT is done with. And I spent long days sleeping in, not going to the Gym, basically doing nothing but going to office and coming back and sleeping.
However, one thing about GMAT is how addictive it has become! I want to really inspire all my friends to take GMAT! I mean, if I were trying for a B-School in the US, I would have certainly taken GMAT again on the next week, because, a very silly stature that I took in the verbal section cost me from scoring in the 700’s. What I do know is that, it really is possible. And everyone reading this post should know that working a little harder and following the right technique during the exam will take you there.!
SO all the best all of you! Do well!
Thats it! And if I had been a teeny tiny bit careful on verbal I would have come clean at my target of 700.
But, I guess I am quite comfortable about it. GMAT is the only exam I really studied for in spite of goddamnable work schedules that ran late into the night and weeks without being able to study, I still put in more effor and heart into this test than any other.
Thanks everyone for helping me out! Appreciate it.
Hardly a week to go and I am totally paranoid.
My colleague wrote GMAT last week and scored 620. She missed a question in quant and then became nervous in the verbal sessions. *sigh*
So, crossing my fingers now. Please cross it for me you guys!
Ten days without any update. I have been stupidly busy again at work.
I have a couple of leaves coming up before my exam next week, so I am working a little too much to bring everything under control.
Other than that,
AWA done- wrote 4 essays on each both sets of questions and am happy about it. But, dear God, I suck at spellings, and to see a screen devoid of spell check was as if my scariest dreams came true! I am learning to manage it a bit though!
I have been revisiting some problems that makes me sweat, and taking timed tests. I am thinking of writing a separate sample test report later on.
So far so good.
A colleague is taking the GMAT today, so guys wish her luck!
I am not supposed to talk about work, but here, let me summarize work in one word “uninteresting”.
This has bugged me now for a long time. There is no denial that, as a college grad, this line of work has opened my eyes to basic company dynamics and given me some exposure that I wanted to gain, but, I do not like what I am doing. I am bored.
That’s all I will tell you now. I am crossing myself and hoping that I score well. I need a C.H.A.N.G.E. ASAP.
Anyway, whine over.
I am going to be back at work from tomorrow on. With the year end appraisals and other related stuff I am expecting all of January to be a little over the top. But I am also crossing my fingers and hoping that I get enough time to revise and take tests.
This week has been amazing for my confidence. I need another schedule for the coming weeks till the exam, so that I will be able to keep track of everything.
Oh, i did not take the test as planned today since my computer was giving me all sorts of bad vibes 😦 I need to take a test this week and do reviews. Schedule! Again!
I could see that no one said hello after the last post, so I guess no one is writing on the same date as me. Anyway, I will hang around and put up the next schedule. It was actually great writing about it, since it helped me positively to see the results!
So, happy Monday all of you.
Yesterday there was a lots of things to celebrate! I am now done with all PS questions and CR questions. The first time I did CR, I was concerned I would never know how to figure out an assumption or conclusion, but yesterdays session gives me a lot of hope.
So, some advice again. Practice is key folks, always. I myself have heard this advice even from people on the street but never really understood the importance of it. So practice, practice, practice and I am sure that whatever question types you are not comfortable with initially will be conquered.
I am also done with PS, and although I do silly mistakes even now, I am in much better foothold that I was before.
That said, today, I plan to complete all the other sections too. Although I overshot my schedule by a day, I pretty much adhered to the general idea of it and was able to complete what I envisioned for this week.
Another update I have is about the exam itself. The D-Day is confirmed. Date is now taken! I will be writing my exam on 31st January in Cochin(in Kerala, India!) So if anyone else have the same dates in the same place or either of the two, do say hello! It would be great to get together!
I am planning a study strategy post soon.
All of you guys have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend.
